Everything went like clockwork. Considering the space limitations, Chuck made the best use of all available space and added some very clever features that no other designer came up with. The installers did a very professional job, minimizing our inconvenience. Very clean too. It is such a relief to deal with only one responsible individual to get the whole project done. When remodeling our kitchen in 2002, Brunahans was recommended to us. We sat with the owner Dennis Tucker and discussed our wish list and developed a plan that would meet our needs and fit into the simple galley style kitchen of our WWII era Cape. We could not have been more pleased with the results. Thirteen years later the cabinets are still in amazing condition and the fit and finish are as good as when originally installed. We were so pleased with their workmanship that during a recent remodel of our family room we had Brunahans construct and install cabinets around our fireplace and build a bar with liquor and wine storage. We are very pleased with the results. We have also purchased several pieces of furniture from them, a beautiful cherry corner hutch and a breakfast bar. The entire staff at Brunahans, from the owner to designers, builders, installers and finish people are a pleasure to work with and very receptive to your ideas. I highly recommend Brunahans for any renovation or remodel project you may have.

Brunarhans is by far the best custom cabinet makers in the area. I have hired the company to redo two of my full bathrooms and the attention to details and craftsmanship is outstanding. The owner and staff will spend as much time with you, as you need and never rush you into making a quick decision. They are very accommodating, pleasant, professional and have great patience with your needs, no matter how big or small the job is. You will pay a fair price for custom made and high end material but you will not regret it. People will notice the difference in your home that the cabinets are a piece of furniture not a pre-fabricated standard style.
I have received so many compliments on my newest addition from Brunarhans and I look forward to working with them again on my future projects.

During the past 14 years we have worked with Brunarhans to renovate many rooms in our house. In 2003 we remodeled our kitchen with custom cherry cabinetry and trim. We worked with Brunarhans again in 2005 to update our family room with custom cabinetry and millwork. In 2007 Brunarhans remodeled our living room, dining room, powder room, and foyer with custom cabinetry and millwork. Our latest project was a complete renovation of our master bath. We did this in 2014. Brunarhans provided the custom cabinetry. We are repeat customers for Brunarhans because of the quality of their work, their sound design advise, their attention to detail, and their business integrity. The products and service that Brunarhans provides are, in a word, excellent. Custom cabinetry is an option that we never thought to explore until recommended by our designer, Lisa Davenport. Now, we have purchased 6 custom cabinets for various projects. All have been designed by Lisa, in close collaboration with Chuck from Brunarhans. Chuck and his team then build and finish the piece in house as well as personally deliver and install it. Each piece and each project with Brunarhans have exceeded our expectations.

We were a bit hesitant to call Brunarhans for our modest ideas after seeing some photos and reading reviews on some of the work they had performed. That all changed very quickly. From the first day Dennis arrived for measurements and our project started, we knew we had made the right choice. It became readily apparent, they had the experience, materials, craftsmen, and know-how, to help us realize our dream kitchen - all within our financial means. We had a partial vision of what we were seeking, but didn't have a set plan on the end goal. A visit to Brunarhans and several discussions with a patient and guiding Dennis and Chuck, solidified our vision into reality. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship is unmatched; I don't believe there is a better value. They built a custom island that is the focal point of our kitchen and is suitable for royalty. The cabinet fit, finish, and quality are worthy of their own TV show. In addition, Brunarhans was able to accommodate our timeline, which was tight, and around the holidays. Words aren't sufficient to commend this company. Every employee worked like a stakeholder and aimed to please, including Tom, Brian, and the others, whose names I can't recall. They gave advice that saved money, provided functionality, and made work easier for other contractors. They guided us through every step of the project and cleaned-up like it was their own home. Our family and friends are in awe of our kitchen transformation. It has easily been the best experience I've ever had with a contractor, and the only recommendation I would give, without reservation.

Outstanding in every sense of the word. From the customer service, quality of the product, to the installers and Mr. Tucker's follow up call to check on the finished project. My husband is an engineer and almost just won't cut it with him! He was actually smiling about the quality of the product and the installation even with wonky wall in our house. We wanted a few cabinets with special features like retractable doors and a kick latch for the garbage cabinet. What we got was so much more. I was able to specify 38" high countertops and make use of that extra 2" instead of boxed cabinets where they would just add a filler strip. And I ordered all the countertops 30" deep, so Chuck made all the drawers 30" deep!
It was fabulous to have cabinets made by people who "get it" that details matter. They had a lot of great ideas and are very easy to work with.
Not cheap but actually not too bad. After I got the price for adding only the retractable doors and the filler strip to a high end boxed cabinet line, Brunarhans was only $65 more. Not a typo. Less than a hundred dollars.
The finish on our walnut cabinets is incredible. The installers are very precise and take every little thing into consideration, even installing our appliances and making sure the countertops were installed correctly.
If you have something specific that you are trying to accomplish or even if you just want to let someone else make sure you receive cabinets that are perfect, these are your guys.
I hear they are doing outdoor kitchens now too so I might have to call them back!

My 60 year old colonial style house had an old, tired kitchen. Because of the layout of the house, we had to follow the footprint of the existing kitchen when we decided to redo the kitchen. We spoke to several contractors (even received some actual plans) but were not happy with them. Finally, I found Brunarhans. They gave me a plan that kept the same footprint while rearranging placement of some cabinets and appliances. What a huge difference it made! My kitchen looks "updated" but totally in keeping with the rest of the house. A wonderful, wonderful job by Brunarhans! I wouldn't change a thing.

Thirty years ago we hired Brunarhans to create a kitchen for our new home. We have enjoyed many wonderful memories entertaining family and friends. Our children grew up in a warm and inviting environment where both have made cooking and meals together an important part of their lives. Recently a cabinet hinge failed and I was advised that the part had been discontinued. I reached out to Brunarhans through their website and was greeted as an old friend. They offered to try and find a replacement part that would fit the drill pattern. They responded that a replacement had been found. I advised them that I had recently had surgery and it would be a few days until I could visit and compare the proposed replacement part. A few hours later a knock on the door and the same craftsman who worked on my project was dropping off the parts. He said he was making a stop near by and recalled where I lived. It was a wonderful visit and great to share with him the memories that his craftsmanship had provided our family. We had cabinets, tables, chairs and other wood work made by Brunarhans in 2013. The quality and beauty of the their work has lasted wonderfully since. People still visit and ask who did this work? We proudly say "Brunarhans". More recently, we had a corner TV cabinet made and that too is absolutely beautiful. Three years ago I decided my kitchen needed to be remodeled. I shopped around for kitchen ideas, plans and prices. Little did I know my answer was right in my own backyard. Brunarhans Design, located in Woodstock, Connecticut, has been in business for over 45 years. Dennis (president) and Chuck (vice-president) were more than willing to help me through this process.
Dennis, who has worked at Brunarhans in many different capacities for over 35 years, came out to measure, and to give me ideas to think about. Chuck, a designer and draftsman, has been with Brunarhans for over 30 years, produced renderings of the many possibilities for my kitchen. They both listened to what I liked, concerns I had, and ideas that I wanted to incorporate into the plan. They helped me think through every decision, so that there would not be much room for error.
As the project was underway, they invited me to “visit” their workshop and view the process. All of their cabinet builders and finishers have been working with the company for years, so they have expertise and foresight during the layout and building process. During the task Chuck was always willing to help me with decisions concerning, cabinets, floors, sinks, and appliances with regard to colors and styles.
The Kitchen is beautifully finished. There is not one thing that I would change. I am happy to say that using Brunarhans was a very pleasurable experience from beginning to end. If you are worried that custom cabinetry may be out of your budget, I am here to say that my research found the prices were comparable to stores around me. So relax and let Dennis and Chuck guide you with your new kitchen undertaking.
